Internship and Experience

Here are some examples of my working experience in radio broadcasting and media, including an internship with Cumulus Media and other experience gained through various community activities.

Internship

Throughout my internship with Cumulus Media, I gained a working knowledge of station broadcasting, planning and organizing community events, and developed on-air promotional giveaways. In addition, I ran a live broadcast of the Fayetteville Woodpeckers Minor League Baseball games from Sergra Stadion. Other community events include Pet Fest of the Sandhills in Hope Mills, NC and the Rock Your World Scholarship Presentation at Robeson Community College.

Insightful Journey Overview

Volunteer Experience

Assisted the Rockingham Dragway with their inaugural battle of the bands weekend festival, "Rock Around and Find Out" where 30 plus artists from the surrounding area participated to win a $5,000 prize and crowned the champion. My experience included event planning and promotion, logistics, stage construction, vendor management, and emergency preparation.

Pet Fest of the Sandhills

Pet Fest of the Sandhills is a yearly event in the beautiful grassy location of Hope Mills Park which benefits Fayetteville Animal Protection Society. The event includes animal presentation, vendors, live entertainment, and a kids area.

Pet Fest of the Sandhills has been an annual event in Cumberland County for nine years and has assisted in finding homes for pets through local animal adoption and rescue agencies.

Pet Fest of the Sandhills is a fun day in the park where attendees are allowed to interact with each other and pets that may be new to them.

Rock Around and Find Out

30 plus local bands participated in a 2 day mini festival to earn the title of Champion $5,000 in prize money. This event included bands performing throughout the day and having their performance judged on performance, crowd participation, and song choice.

Participants submitted a video of the bands performance to the Rockingham Dragway. Next, the followers of the Rockingham Dragway Facebook Page voted to narrow the field of perspective performers to 10. The Saturday of the festival, each band was given a 30 minute time spot to showcase their talents to attendees and a panel of judges.

Over 3,000 tickets were sold and planning has already begun for next year's event.
